While this is an equally big year on the job and career fronts and there is an overlap, there are specific times of the year when one is more dominant and to begin with, that is work and job matters. Not only has Pluto, the planet of change and revolution been in your work sector since 2008, with the Sun always spending the last 10 days and the first three weeks of every year here, the solar spotlight is always on your work situation and job matters as you move into each new professional year. This year Venus and Mercury are here as well, putting heart and mind on the same page from the start but with very different agendas. With Venus leaving on 3rd January and then not returning until 2024, listening to your heart from the start is a must, making it more important to start the year with a wish list than with a game plan or resolutions. With the Sun here until 20th January, Mercury in retrograde motion until 19th January and not leaving until 11th February, there will be plenty of time after Venus leaves to work on your game plan and resolutions.

As has been the case since Pluto’s return, once the faster moving planets leave he will be back on his own and it will stay that way until the Sun and Mercury return in December, or at least that is normally the case. The difference this year is that on 24th March Pluto will leave as well, leaving your work sector empty for the first time in over 14 years, though not for long. Pluto will be back on 11th June, but this is the start of his transition out, leaving for good next year and then not returning again in our lifetime. Yet if you are reaching the culmination of everything you have been working towards on the job front in over a decade, major new doors are about to open on the career front. Like your work sector, your career sector has been active for years and in this case, since Uranus returned in 2019, quietly keeping things on the right track until leaving in 2026.

While things become more active when the faster moving planets move through, which this year will be when Venus moves through from 17th March to 11 April, Mercury from 4th April to 12th June and the Sun from 20th April to 21st May, it is during this period that things will expand. It is while the Sun has the solar spotlight on your career and professional situation, matters and options that Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion will return to your career sector on 17th May where he will spend the next 12 months. This is the start of your biggest year for professional growth and expansion in over a decade and it is during this time that he will work with Pluto, when he retrogrades back into your work sector on 11th June, creating major potential on the job and career fronts for the rest of the year.
