Astrology is extremely useful in identifying ways that human attributes follow natural rhythms of nature. This is most apparent in the three specific categories or ‘Qualities’ that each sign of the Zodiac belongs to.

Qualities and The Four Seasons

Qualities are assigned particular roles in relation to their placement within the four seasons. To understand your Quality, it is important you know what Element you belong to. If you don’t yet know if you are an Earth, Air, Fire or Water Sign, visit the Elements section of my website. If you already know which Element you belong to, then you can now find out if you are a Cardinal, Fixed or Mutable Sign.

Also called ‘quadruplicies,’ there are four signs to each of the Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable categories.

Cardinal Signs

Cardinal Signs are keen to make things happen; they thrive on initiating action and forcing ideas into action. It is their job to initiate the season. Cardinal Signs are Aries (spring), Cancer (summer), Libra (autumn), and Capricorn (winter).

Fixed Signs

Fixed Signs share a common trait of stubbornness. Persistence, commitment and dedication are very important to Fixed Signs. They are responsible for maintaining the season and are Taurus (spring), Leo (summer), Scorpio (autumn), and Aquarius (winter).

Mutable Signs

Mutable Signs all share adaptability. They enjoy the unexpected, change their minds frequently and thrive on all that change offers and brings. Mutable Signs oversee the transition to the next season and are Gemini (late spring), Virgo (late summer), Sagittarius (late autumn) and Pisces (late winter).
